NEHTE lost & finding

NEHTE lost & finding is seaside based design studio, who cares about the solitude time & space in between light & darkness. We always think through the relationship our life with the light. Light, a basic substance that regulates our circadian rhythms, is also a medium by which the world surrounding us is revealed. Experiencing the space in light, whether in its brightness or darkness, in a particular  moment becomes part of one’s own subjective memory.

This is where shaping light becomes emotional, social engagement for us as much as it is about pursuing architectural aesthetic.

DESIGN ELEMENTS

We regards our project as a journey of rediscovering time and space which were once lost in this current world overflowing with excessive information as well as incessant visual stimulation. We maintain three indispensable motto in order to make this journey possible.

1. The minimum level of light is not about having the smallest magnitude in index such as illuminance lux or luminance candela. This is about breaking away from standardized, maximized light levels in which we are conditioned to see things only in certain ways. It is ‘minimum-quantitative whilst maximum-mood-affecting’ light level that allows an individual to restore identity through discovering one’s own perspective.

2. The quiet gradation of light is a flows which enable to have diverse beauty of space own. Through soft and sometimes rhythmical steps of light, one can find the delicate brightness and darkness gradation and its richness depth of the space & time.

3. We go beyond designing shape, color or the texture of light. We pay great attention to details such as CRI, CCT of the light sources and fixtures, and Beam angles as they are critical elements to our work that aspires to be as close as natural light

Guided by these three mottos above, NEHTE lost & finding approaches space design as a starting point

where individual identity is alive, imaginative realm is realized, solidarity with others is exercised.
